Ordering from Japan is roughly the same.
On top of that Customs can ask you to pay an extra $$$ as you are importing products to singapore...
better for you to either get a high end guitar OR a guitar you'll keep for years...

you can ask around Singapore post for their Vpost service if you want to get things from the US

The base charge is lower than Vposts. But these freighting things are a little scary, because you don't know how they are handling things.

i agree.. if u want to err on the safe side i think u shoul find those retailers with high rep for overseas shipping, a bit more expensive (USD75 to 100 is a fair price) but they use DHL/Fedex/UPS which is pretty solid

Actually, shipping for irregular shaped packages, especially guitars, which are not according to their specifications, actually end up in the regions of more than a hundred. Even more so if you're using one of the premier courier services, other than USPS.
The best solution, is to take a holiday, go to the US, and to lug it back yourself. Or if you've got family there, ask them to bring it back for you when they visit. IMHO, of course.
