Analog Clean Amp Modelers

Hi guys,

I have just started to explore stompboxes n i would say im hooked. I find that with most amps, a nice sounding distortion box or stacking up a few drive pedals can get u nice lead and rhythm crunch, dist tones. However, the quality of the clean tone depends greatly on the clean channel of the amp.

I am trying to formulate a effects rig that is versatile enough to sound good on both amps and mixers alike. Currently if i plug into a mixer my guitar signal runs into my stomp boxes then into my zoom G2 multi-effect and then into a di box into the mixer. I usually just set a clean fender channel on the zoom G2 effect and im quite happy with my sounds. However, my clean sound seems to lack bite and clarity.

apart from using compressors and reverb pedals to enhance your clean tone, is using Analog Clean Amp modelers such as a Sansamp Tri-Ac(clean channel) or a AMT Legend Amps F-1 a good way to improve your clean tone on amps with less stellar clean channels or even mixers? :p
