In this recital, Singapore Chinese Orchestra musician Zhang Bin takes you on a musical tour of China-a land rich with unique and diverse folk music traditions.

Enjoy the sonorous and vibrant tones of his erhu as he performs Qin Qiang Capriccio, based on the Qin Qiang opera of the Shaanxi province in northern China. He will also perform “silk and bamboo” music of the southern lands from scenic Jiangnan that evokes the atmosphere of leisurely teahouses, and Cantonese tunes filled with lyrical flavour of the local dialect from the Guangdong province.

As a finale, Zhang Bin will share the stage with his wife, Yin Qun, a guzheng player currently teaching at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, in a performance of The Charm of Qin.

In collaboration with Singapore Chinese Orchestra
