Amplifier Questions

I am using a LP type guitar, however there is significant humming/noise (not very loud, but definitely audible). I am using Marshall MG30 which is a solid state amp. Any ideas to reduce the noise?

check for humming birds in the pickup cavities....

they like to nest there, especially as the rainy season approaches.

Try changing your amp´s power plug to our Singapore 3 pin version (UK type). This normally solve hums.

it´s either what mike said or your cable needs replacement. get a decent one, i´ve been using Planet Waves (after trying Monster Cable) & they are excellent.

I am using planet wave but the interference is still there. Think I will try mike´s suggestion.

that´s a logical follow up... i´ve modded all my amp´s power plug to the 3-pin prong & no hum

I raised this question once in this forum... i had a similar problem

But i replaced the power-plug with a 3-pin one and the hissin (noise) problem was solved.



U could use ur computer´s power-plug, it fits perfectly =D
