amp spoilt?

Hi, my amp's distortion has a problem. I turned on my amp after not using it for a week but to my horror there was no sound coming out of the clean channel. So I switched it to the Distortion channel and all that came out of the amp was a clean sound. When i turned up the gain there was a sound that sounds like sand getting shaked. Do i need to get a new amp or send it for repairs? Its a roland micro cube. And I'm pretty convinced its not a problem with the speakers as i still can play songs thru it by my computer.

had the same problem b4. mine was an issue of loose input jack. check ur guitar's input jack.it may be loose. make sure the entire jack is free of wobbling parts. check ur cable also. make sure nothing is hanging.

nope its neither the cable nor jack.. opening up the back to check circuit board now... sian la halfway thru EOYs come this kind of stupid problem =.=

hmmm think u'd best get it checked out after ur papers. for now just practice unplugged lol. i did that when i was stuck in camp for 2 weekends lol

Don't exactly know. cause i brought my guitar along for my guitar lesson today than the same thing happened. my teacher thinks that the jack dried up or something. needs something called contact cleaner or whatever its called. oh well at least im getting a new guitar soon.
