Hi softies, I currently own a Peavey Envoy 110 (2 pin power cable) that's been working perfectly fine up until recently. I plugged in my guitar today and was just about to play when i got an electric shock from the strings. Touching the exposed metal parts of the guitar such as the bridge also produced a shock and even touching the screws on my amp gave me a shock. Swapped to a different amp and no such shocks were produced. Deduced it was probably an amp problem so i came onto soft and saw the thread on 2pin - 3pin conversions and such. Was about to change the 2pin to a 3pin when my bro pointed out that computer cables had similar plugs. Skeptical, i went to try it out but it fit just fine. And comp power cables were 3pin. Upon further inspection, found that the power cable for the amp had details such as 16/250~, 10A and 250V. Only managed to find 10/250~ and 10A on the comp power cable. Being curious and arguably stupid, i turned the amp on using the comp cable anyway and it worked, producing no shocks as well. Sorry for such a long background story but i would like to find out if continuing to use the comp power cable would be detrimental for my amp and possibly my own health. Used it for a good half an hour of playing today and could see no harm done, though i'm not sure about long term usage. I wouldn't want my amp to explode or anything during play so any help and input would be greatly appreciated.
TLDR: Replaced amp power cable with computer power cable and worked out fine thus far. Is this a suitable substitute or will it blow my amp up?
