Hey guys i 've been wondering about this. I played the guitar right handed for already quite some time. got used to it. But these few days i tried to play it Left handed(dunno y but just wanted to try). Then i could form chords and play some scales. I was wondering should i learn it left handed too? i write with my right...

erm the original side, of course because i played for a long time with that side. I was just wondering if i should learn the other side as well.

When you play it left handed, do u restring the guitar strings the other way round or you play left handed guitar with right handed stringing?
It will be quite cool to learn. Solo halfway then turn the guitar around and continue soloing. Ultimate.. Haha

wow that really cool. studies have shown that ambi dexterous people are on an average, smarter than normal people, coz they use both sides of the brain equally well.

haha

haha that's really cool. But i cannot like play comfortably with the other side. so i was thinking if i should put the time in to play both ways. kinda siao. HARD man

wow, cool. i cant even sms with my left hand. but quite frankly, i dont see a need for the ability to play both left n right handed guitar (well, apart from the switching to the other hand while soloing, like someone mentioned above).

what about those who write with their left, but play right-handed?

does that make them ambidextrous too?

I do mostly EVERYthing with my right. But i could SOMEWHAT just Somewhat play with left handed guitar... If i practice i think i can master left handed guitar but should i?

I write with my left, but other than that i do almost everything else with my right. don't ask me why, i think it has something to do with my left shoulder, it's a bit loose, lol.

but i think i may consider playing a left handed bass so that i can slap more easily, it's damn hard to flick my right wrist, lol.

Yeah I guess should give it a try. Like every hour you practise give left handed playing a 15 minutes session.
Its mostly about the aesthetics anyway.

Personally I find strumming with my left hand a bit weird. Like its very stiff.

well i write with my left hand, plays the guitar with the right hand(picking hand) and kick soccer balls with both feet (not sure if this is applicable). and i do think that i use both sides of my brain. but that does not make me smarter. i still feel that i'm just average as it balance out.

check this out:our brain

so yeah i would say i'm pretty much good in maths, science and language but also all in the right brain except genius and fantasy.

guitar-wise, never really thought of using both hands, but could give it a try.

Personally, I wouldn't reccomend it. It is better to be pro at playing using right hand, rather to being able to play with both hands, but suck at both. Unless, you are just doing it for fun or you have plenty of time at hand....

my cousin's left-handed and he plays bass right-handed.

and my other friend's left-handed but can play right-handed guitars left-handed without restringing. cooool

imo, its better to master one hand then be alright at both. how many people actually do master a single hand? not many out there...
