Alexi Laiho Vs Roope Latvala

So who do you think is the most evil guitar player from Lake Bodooom?

For me it's definetly Alexi, cuz the stuff he writes and composes on guitar is simply melodious accompanied with speed. It something he's very talented in, and when he pairs up with Janne Wirman to do those guitar and keyboard solo duels they blow my mind every time, an indestructible force of melodic metal.

But whenever Roope takes the turn to solo or shred, it makes me feel that that he's a very experienced and seasoned player than Alexi. After all, compared to him he's been a lau jiao in the Finnish music scene in Stone and Sinergy. I can see in his eyes every time he wants to shred after Alexi, but it's back to the song riff again haha.

What do you guys think?

roope was alexi's childhood idol. that says it all

i think it takes a lot of talent to play at sing/scream/growl/whatever WHILE playing at that kind of level

I like alexi, but he's really SLOPPY when playing live....

Roope is alot more laid back and he would rather let his skills complement Bodom rather than take the limelight all the time, which makes much more valuable as a team player. I would give him much more credit for holding back - as it is more often than not for someone of that level its easier to overplay.

Alexi has something more in his lead work going on but he needs to be a lot more precise when attempting to nail them live cos live shows are what i would define baptism of fire for most bands- its either they make it or break it there

try muhammed suicmez from necrophagist. he's another one. technical death metal band.

i'm not gonna play favourites here,

i like both guitarists.they bring different playing dimentions into Bodom songs.

but imo,i prefer Roope than Alex Kuoppala.
