hi all, im currently serving my NS now and i want to study music after im done serving the army. I need some advice on which institution to look at and wat are some prerequisites that most schools have in order to get in. I play the guitar, purely selftaught and i don't have any music related cert watsoever.

thanks in advance

balloons i think he is talking more about a tertiary education in music rather than casual music schools.

Anyway, in Singapore, there is Lasalle. I'm not too sure how good it is, they have courses on pop, jazz and classical music.
Overseas, the most obvious ones would be Berklee and MI. MI is musicians institute.
You can go google the requirements yourself.
But I'm guessing you'll probably need a theory certificate, be able to sight read, and play at a certain level of course. Oh, and you need rich parents if you want to go overseas.

I'm assuming that you want to play rock music though, if you want to play jazz or classical there are probably many other options.

Ya,i know that. But since he mentioned he got no cert and hence those i mentioned above is a good way to obtain basic certs for him to enroll into tertiary music courses.
