The best way is to try it out yourself. Turn all controls to halfway mark. Play your guitar. then adjust one knob at a time until you find a tone you might prefer. it takes time, really, and your tastes will change over time.
General settings:
Boost treble and bass, lower mids(or cut it entirely) for nasal thin sounds for mainly metal
Boost mids and bass, lower treble good probably for big(slow) rock songs
Boost treble(lots) and mids, ignore bass for bastardly tones to piss people off, suitable for punk
Just experiment on your own. If you can't find the tone that you want, you probably need a mesa boogie amp.
Just kidding, just that the voicing of your pedal isn't what you are looking for, try another pedal
