acoustic or electric amp

whats the diff between an acoustic amp and an electric amp? i have a acoustic guitar and planning to buy amp? which amp is better for an acoustic guitar?

of course the acoustic amp would be better for an acoustic guitar

but most of the time you can plug the acoustic guitar straight into the PA

if you get an electric amp, it might distort a wee bit naturally
