Yeah! Not enough acoustic guitar players nowadays. Your budget is pretty good, I'd advise you not to get anything costing below $200 because normally those won't last very long. Here are some good brands to consider, and where you can try them out:

- Samick / Greg Bennett (Davis Guitar)
- Cort (Swee Lee)
- Takamine (Davis Guitar)
- Custom Acoustic (City Music)
- Fina (Davis Guitar)

I wouldn't recommend:
- Low-end Ibanez acoustics (V series). Generally very poorly made despite costing over $200, and inferior to those mentioned above. From my experience, anyway.

I personally vote for Samick (as in Samicks from before Greg Bennett came about) because I own one. It's my backup acoustic now and its served me well for many years, and it still sounds great. The exact model is LW-015. It's my primary recommendation for beginners, and costs around $120+. Just about the only guitar costing below $200 that I would recommend for long-term use.

I highly recommend Takamines at Beez. They should be within your budget. He will set it up nicely for you. Of course if you abuse your guitar Beez can help you with repairs...

i think yamaha is not a bad choice..

u can get the fx-310 model(with build in pickups) as a start..

I've used a lot of high end acoustics namely Gibsons and Taylors so I would kinda know my stuff and when i tried the Takamine , I was very very impressed and at $250 totally worth it ! get them from Beez
