Acoustic guitar in electric amplifier

Is it advisable to do this? I heard it will spoil the amplifier or something...any1 knows?

No problems at all.

Just note that with acoustic guitar, you will have to increase the gain for the sound to be audible.

From what I've heard, acoustic guitar amplifiers and electric guitar amplifiers are the same except that the tone is different.

i think u'll get a better tone out of a bass amp.
