Hi guys,

Any recommended shop provided FRET REPLACEMENT SERVICE? Erm.. Tried to ask Davis Guitar, they do not provide that service.

Your recommendation are appreciate!
Many Thanks!

walk a little further and you will see guitar connection. they are good at refrets. you can even choose your preferred fret size.

are your frets very bad? usually for acoustics the first 5 frets are the ones to go. you can opt for a partial refret. could cost you about $60 - $70? better than a full one that could easily cost $250+ .

check to see if fret leveling can save your guitar. that would be the most cost effective method.

might not have to refret or even relevel the frets. most people think you have to but after a proper set up (those that costs more than a 100 not 20 dollars from Davis) you might have a perfectly okay guitar and the sanding of the frets or the replacement would seem totally redundant.

Hi,

Any recommendation on where to go get a proper set up that cost more than $100?

Tks

bro! were you quoting my experience there? haha! Plagiarism man!

I had a lot of buzzing so I thought it was just a case of an overtightened neck. I was told by the techs that the first few frets of the guitar were worn out & a refret was required. I almost made the guitar my new coffee table since I knew it was going to be a little too expensive for me to get repaired.

However, Kelvin suggested doing a partial refret. Replace the first 5 frets and level them down with the rest of the existing frets. total job cost me $70 flat. Now that was a price I was willing to pay. In the end, a job well done!

Tell me these don't look like original frets.

lol. i was just saying like get a proper set up. not get one that is 100 bucks. a good place to set up is probably zen guitarworks or beez does a pretty good job for quite a good price too.
