Acoustic Guitar course or Electric guitar course?

I am interested in both. But I have attended electric guitar course on and off and not acoustic guitar course.

Learning acoustic guitar first means you have to think about what your fingers are doing. You can more easily paper over the cracks in your playing on electric by putting effects on. So to improve your technique, I'd say acoustic first.

First of all, which do you like more? Start with the one you like more, then learn the other for added versatility. I prefer to be adept at both, even if I'm mainly an electric player.

Either way, learning one will make learning the other easier, even though both are quite different. And for electric, you can choose not to use effects. I don't use effects in my playing, only clean and dirt tones. So technique-wise, it's about keeping it simple rather than strictly acoustic first, electric second. In my opinion. Yes, many electric players use lots of effects, but it's a choice.

But, I tend to recommend starting with the acoustic because acoustic is physically a bit more challenging to play, so it's a bit better at helping your fingertips develop additional hardness (calluses) so playing will become less painful over time. Acoustic is also a bit cheaper to begin with, at least as far as buying the guitar and equipment goes.

I like both. I have started playing the electric guitar since poly days but not yet for acoustic guitar. Most of the time I was self taught. Recently, I enrolled in a rock guitar school but the things that teacher taught were things I have already learnt donkeys years ago. The reason why I want to enrol in a music school is so that I can be 'updated'. Electric guitar's neck is easier to hold and so makes playing easier than acoustic but I like acoustic too just that I wonder how it is like in an acoustic guitar class, hopefully the teacher doesn't keep asking me what song I want to learn as I can learn any songs myself. I hope to have a more systematic way of learning. Gosh, even typing this reply makes me confused.
