abt e.q pedal?

the only pedal in my setup- my EQ... it's good to have it in your line up so that you can sculp your tone accordingly- it's the easiest tone modeller as opossed to changing pickups.

my EQ: DOD FX-40B discont'd...

I had a Danelectro Fish n Chips & band EQ. Pretty good pedal but there was no need for one in my new setup. So I sold it off. I suggest you try that. Saw it in wakemeupmusic going for like SGD 30-40 if i'm not mistaken. The only flaw it has is its construction, too small. However, its not as fragile as it looks.

Like a compressor its a pretty powerful tool actually. But dont expect it to change single coils into humbuckers and vice versa. It can be used as a booster fro solos or a 2nd guitar ( well not in treble booster or normal booster sense). It can do that lo-fi thin radio buzz sound you hear from cheapo old radios. It can even create a new channel in your amp.

It can be used infront of the amp or parallel to the amp where the latter will govern the overall EQ of the amp. Truly a pedal of wonders and often overlooked but ultimately boils down to personal preference.

FX Loop- it's written @ the rear of your amp (if your amp has this feature...), for you to connect your external effects like pedals for instance. still can't find it? look for the labels SEND/ RETURN, that's the one...

most small amps don't have this feature so if you fancy pedals, you have to connect it in series ie: guitar-FX-amp...

what's the big deal about FX Loop? you effects process your guitar signals at the amp itself, if you connect it in series, you guitar's signals would be processed first, before it reaches the amp. it offers a diff tonal perspective, not to mention a diff tone (some hear only slight diff...). hope this helps...

oh ok thx :D are there like external effect loops?

oh and i was wondering if it was possible to have two different effect chains connected to an a/b box and then into the same amp with an adapter for two jacks? was thinking this would allow you to have 2 footswitchable options for like rhythm and lead

poon: the A/B switching route is definitely possible & a good solution for players who like 2 diff setup for lead/ rythm. the problem is, for amps which has 2 inputs, most of the time, 1 is of a lower gain than the other, have to keep this in mind 8)

good practice amps:
*Spider2 15W
*Marshall MG15 mini stack
*Roland Cube 15

if you can get the Peavey Bandit112 used, it'd be good...
