i'm not a big fan of Dream Theater, but i tried watching the Live in Budokan DVD in its entirety and failed 4 times! and i watched the Disc 2 (bonus material) instead! ok there is a mentioned abt them covering Maiden's "Number Of The Beast" album in its entirety. i'm really interested in that and i checked out their web. and i saw they cover Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" too! hahahahahhahah... anyone knows where to get them besides ordering direct? called a few places but unsuccessful...

I have the Master Of Puppets one, yeah from that metal shop at peninsula. It's really good, I like how some of the guitar solos are played on the keyboards and the drumming is near perfect with a bit of a Portnoy touch to it. However, the singing is... interesting. In fact I don't think James LaBrie's voice is very suited to Metallica...

hi guys, thanx alot! i forgot abt Clairvoyant! yeah, i'll check with Charles soon! i'm interested bcos in the DVD they played one of Maiden's songs real slow. very different from the original! and yes, i was wondering abt the solos too! how Myung, Petrucci or Rudess will handle the parts! and of course the vocals! hahahahhahah... thanx again guys!

i have a bootleg vid of them covering Master Of Puppets and Sanitarium from the exact album if im not wrong. i'm incredibly blown away during the solo for Master Of Puppets....amazingly clean technique displayed :prayer:

Will try to upload the vid by tonight. Stay tuned to this thread!

edmund, thanx!

just watched it. its great! they really are like machines! supertight! i think tighter than Metallica! hehehehehehhh... i love the arrangement with the keys doing the solo. nice... but yeah, the vocals really is not meant to cover Metallica. i think he'll be better with Maiden's cover tho'. coz Dickinson is more like his style. i'll get both CD's tho... thanx again ed...

no prob bro, Sanitarium will be tomorrow.

yeah the keys and guitar combo pretty refreshing, esp the interlude part. I feel the same about James Labrie covering Metallica, tak kenna....not garang enough hahaha.

someone posted sanitarium a while ago. and i think he did better with saitarium than wif master of puppets. i have the mp3 of him covering the trooper! he rocks for tht one!

oh okok. i have a mp3 of the trooper.....but ridiculously lousy bootleg recording that i found on kazaa years back. possible for you to u/l to ysi wil?

this was the file i got, but i think at lower bitrate that was so irritating. Sounds like bruce to me :D

Why all the interest in their revives? Dream Theater's progressive metal is tops for me - no need for them to play anything else =p although I'd love to see their Master of Puppets rendition.

Can't wait 'til they come!
