First of all Hi all i'm new to this forum so i'll take this chance to say hi haha

anyway heres my problem, i've been wanting to upgrade my guitar to a medium-end model(im playing an ESP EC 50 currently) to a PRS SE Tremonti but i'm afraid it'll sound like crap through my MG10KK amp so should i upgrade the amp first? or just get the PRS?

i'm not really sure of what to do. Budget wise should be okay if you guys recommend me some amps if you think i should upgrade it. i'm not playing in a band or anything btw just your typical bedroom rockstar if you can put it that way.

THANKS all.

imho:
great/decent guitar + crap amp = crap sound
crap guitar + decent amp = between crap and decent sound
crap guitar + good amp = between crap and good sound depending on how crap the guitar is

i believe your ESP is somewhere decent. a better amp will be more worth it.
but i can't give you recommendations. amazing, i read alot, but i own none.

Hey all, mind you that the "ESP" EC-50, is in fact an entry level LTD not esp, just for those who are mixed up:) Not saying that entry level guitars are crap. I own a craftsman and to me i prefer it over my esp

Back to the topic, i feel that the ec-50 to PRS SE, is quite an upgrade, the SE's are great guitars.

oops my bad..i meant an LTD EC 50 yeah its entry level, and amp-wise hmm i currently own a Marshall MG10KK

okay so the verdict is in, i'll get a new amp over a new guitar. regarding budget i guess 500 bucks should be reasonable to get a decent sounding amp no?

recommendations guys?

hahaha yeah i guessed its an LTD. if it is an ESP, i'll gladly buy u a PRS SE + amp for a trade! hehe.

yeah i'd say get an amp. 500 is quite a decent budget. some recommendations:

- roland cube 30x - u get that nice distortion n effects all inside, still amazed at how it sounds like.
- vox ac4tv - all tube amp at low wattage at low volumes at low price! 4w and get that high clean headroom or 1/4w to crank and get that warm tube overdrive.
