A noob question

yes it can work on any amps... u can even plug in ur electric guitar to ur pc speakers or direct it to earphones.. no problem..

but different amps gives u different tone.. this is up to preference..
and amps comes with different wattage for different uses..
- home use; 30 watts
- small gigs; 50 watts
- large scale concerts; stacks

many people associate good sound with good amps.. (subjective again)

its all experimental.. :D

wattage does not dictate loudness; it's really the amp's performance when you hear it in action. my 1W Killer Ant here, is loud...

also, you need not restrict yourself to the amp type to be used at home, i don't run concerts but i have a half stack in my room...

wont that half stack be abit too compressed at volumes ur neighbours can tahan??

i've not had issues with volumes thusfar, i don't have volume-intolerant neighbours either... they are equally abominable with their mahjong/ soccer sessions...

haha :) well then, if size doesnt matter what you look for is tone. Different amps sound different because of their speakers and also circuitry. The best way to choose an amp is to go around with ur guitar and plug in - try before you buy. It's the best way to get a sound that you'll like.
