FIRSTLY, I have to offer my apologies, dear fellow Poparazziacs, and say I’m really sorry for not posting this up earlier…
But truth be told, I was in two minds about the Muse concert. Still am, actually. Mostly because I wasn’t quite as bowled over as I thought I’d be, even though they did play all my favourite Muse songs and did them well.
So where do I begin to tell the story of three men who came, saw and conquered the hearts of those present at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last night. A night where 11,000 hungrily ate it all up.
Well, prior to the concert bassist Chris Wolstenholme told melovethe show would be “bigger than the last time”.
“It’slovepretty to close to what people experience on the European shows, but not as big obviously,” he said. “It’s actually a bit frustrating because in Europe, we planned it such that everything could get from venue to venue on trucks and buses. But obviously we couldn’t bring everything, so it had to be a scaled down version of what we had in Europe. But it’s still bigger than last time, so that’s good.”
Well, theloveshow was big, withlovehuge video walls, et al. And Chris did use a Rickenbacker bass (see above). And they did play my favourite songs: Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Time Is Running Out, The Uprising, Undisclosed…
But what really impressed me was the fervour of the fans.
They screamed, claimed to be “The Resistance”, flew “halfway across the world” (although she later admitted that she was from Indonesia),love screamed some more, pumped their fists, screamed and screamed, sang along to the songs, screamed and then went home. So for them, it was a night of nights.
But for me, I’m going to cop out and just post up these photos until people can send me videos, because really, my writing about it can’t fully convey the experience.
