A gig in a jamming studio

Hi fellow softies,

Just want to get your views on what you think about a gig in a jamming studio.

Would you(or your band) want to perform in a jamming studio?

I thought there are many gigs held at jamming studio? Like those with big gig rooms like Lcube.

Alil squeezy but for those small indie gigs, no problem.

depends on genre.very don't match if after a sentimental song then suddenly one heavy metal band come out perform.must have good order setlist. then gig in studio sound good

I've had a gig at the big room at L cube before, and it was the WORST gig of my life. NO AIR CON, TERRIBLE CROWD and it was squeezy. oh well, maybe we were just unlucky

Personally I wouldn't want to have a gig in a jamming studio because I could just book the studio and invite my friends over for a "gig". Then again that's just my thought. Perhaps it wouldn't really fit a large crowd I guess.

There are some studios that have offer such stuff. Stone Jamz used to do that. But you have to sell your own tickets. I think it's a good start to get people to comment on the band and etc.

Gigs can be held anywhere but just remember what kinda crowd attendance you are expecting.

Jamming studio gigs are fine if its planned properly, eg. those Bualguitar series gigs at Chapter 6 studios.

I remember a gig I once had at Jammerz Pit many many years back.. 40-50 odd people moshing and cramped in one of those "bigger" jamming studio sized room. It was stuffy and hot as hell but the energy and ambiance was definitely there. Not forgetting those Goth and metal babes. \m/

Haha. But then again, it's called a jamming studio for obvious reasons. Anyone could make their own gig. I'm thinking from a band's perspective.. Why would I want to perform in a jamming studio when I can just book the studio by myself and make my own gig?

It depends on the jamming studio actually. Some are big enough to hold a gig of 20-30(max). The close proximity with the crowd also does have it effects on the band that is performing.

If you are considering to do your own gig in a jamming studio, then by all means but let me tell you that the rates will differ from usual jam session rates.

Actually, what you said is quite true man. I've been to one studio called Rockstar Studios (closed down). One of the rooms were so big there was even a bar inside. Besides LCube, I'm not sure of any other jamming studios which have bigger square foot.

tried once not going to happen gain, stuff and hot like omfg.. almsot fainted, i think its somewhere in bugis. nowadays we play in proper venue or we dun play, simple really.
