Yesterday night , For Better Endings launched their EP to a full house at Scape lab ,selling all 200 copies of their EP and all their Merchandise. They have also been signed to Gegey Music (m'sia/indonesia label ) and will launch their EP in KL next month
I write this as a very proud producer of the band having seen them grow in the studio and hope that other local bands can be inspired from their success especially cos they are a " heavy " band and there is apparently a stigma that " heavy " bands from singapore cannot make it.This is even more impressive by the fact that they are all under 20
What i've noticed from them reminds me of all the good aussie bands that i've recorded , and i think alot of the bands in singapore can learn from,is their hardworking and humble attitude ,dedication to their craft , never to scrimge on quality , the willingness to go for broke and not play it safe .
I have seen them spend many recording nights eating maggi mee when they couldn't afford to order in and loaning money plus working to pay off the recording and pressing of their cds.Their attitude in the studio was great, willing to work hard to get the takes down , open to ideas and very supportive of one another.
Hopefully this will spur other local bands to take themselves more seriously and realise that there is potential in the scene AND ESPECIALLY IN TAKING THEIR MUSIC OVERSEAS.I will try to elaborate more when i have some time off my recording schedule !
In the meantime check them out at www.myspace.com/fbecore

PS: i understand that some people here may think that this is shameless plug to promote myself and the band and i have thought it over quite a bit whether to post this up. But i feel that there is something that bands can learn from this small success story that should be shared.
