Discord! Distort! Disjunct! feat. 97-SHIKI, frantic post-punk (US) : 7th Nov 08
97-Shiki plays a sort of discordant, frantic and yet seamless punk one would have trouble putting their finger on, and which might easily sound like a mashup of some, if not all, of their previous bands: Fourth Rotor (Kammy Lee & Douglas Ward), V.Reverse (Patrick Scott and Douglas), Weather, Kill Sadie, My Lai (Patrick), HeWhoCorrupts and Kung Fu Rick (Ryan Durkin) to name a few.
It is a band with four strong personalities that all get their ideas out in driving, pulsing, cutting tunes, making "beautiful lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove noise" to vent their heads at the world. With long shared histories and backgrounds in the Chicago DIY underground music scene, but only playing as 97-Shiki the collective entity just this past spring, they hope to be making noise and venting their heads in basements, houses, clubs and halls all over the place in the months and years to come.

Regrettably, KILLEUR CALCULATEUR from Kuala Lumpur has pulled out due to work commitments.
