7 string guitar and 4 string bass tuning....help me!

i'm used to hear bands using 7 string guitar usually paired up with a 5 string bass but what if it's 4 string bass instead?what are the tunings like?..

4 string bass is EADG thickest to thinest i dunno bout 7 string guitar. i only play 4 string bass and 6 string guitar

To match the low B of the 7-string guitar on a 4-string bass you could try doing what Tim Commerford does: he strings his Fender J-bass with the lowest 4 strings of a 5 string set, so instead of EADG the tuning becomes BEAD (lowest to highest)
