22 fret overhang help

Need some help with my partscastor. I got an Eden neck to mount onto a highwayone body.

I've checked that the neck is straight and raised the bridge saddles as high as i could. The nut is also the right height (compared with an mij strat neck) but I still cant get rid of the slight fret buzz.

The 22 fret overhang is about 3mm distance from the pickguard. Is that normal or is it too high? should the overhand be above the pickguard or just seated nicely on top of it? I've no experience with 22 fret neck. I suspect the neck heel is too thick?

If U had raised the saddles as high as can go and still buzz..means your heel is too thick.

You could try sanding the bottom of the heel or add a shim at the frontmost portion of the neck pocket (rather than the back) - butthe sanding and propre fitting method is the best. Take notethat refinishing is required if you sand it doe ...

Depending on whattype of saddles - some shops sell the longer saddle screw - mainly for vintage US strat types - it marginally longer than the norm saddle screws (about $3 each from Davis) that can give you an added 1mm height or so - I used them for my SRV with thick neck heel & jumbo frets

my 2 cents

hey fgl i know u have lots of experience putting strat parts together. I just checked pics on the net, mine looks abnormally higher than it should be. I'm going to try sanding it down. Its a real pity, they did the vintage tint very well.

have u applied finish on necks b4? can use those wood lacquer from homefix right?

theres a vintage type laquer spray U can get from homefix which you can use to replicatethe vintage tint
