Happy Chinese Lunar New YeaR 2012. Well loved, well taken care and never gigged guitar for sale. Guitar is also signed by Joe Bonamassa in 2011 at Esplanade when I met him in the afternoon before his performance. I have pictures taken with him. Anyway, decided to let this go as my priorities have changed since the arrival of my baby.
This is a limited run 2010 Fender 1972 Telecaster Custom in Sunburst Colour from the Roadworn series. Aka Kieth Richards style telecaster. Fender authentic original guitar purchased from BGW in 2011 for $1400. No longer avail.
Specs include: a single-coil bridge/humbucker neck configuration on the Custom model, 25 1/2 inch scale rosewood neck (rare) with C-shaped profile, 21 medium frets with 7 1/2 radius. Spray with thin nitro lacquer and exposed relicing parts. I upgraded boutique Jason Lollar 'Regal' humbucker pickup and Jason Lollar special T pickup for the bridge position. Pickups cost $350 from Sound Alchemy Singapore. Bridge upgraded with Callaham Vintage which cost $179.
Neck is straight and frets are 100% brand new. Guitar has aged and some checking on the sunburst. Well made in Mexico, with exposed wood from the Road Worn relic’ing process, results in very lively, resonant and responsive tone. Sounds awesome especially with the humbucker and single coil combination, and suited for wide genre of music including jazz and screams when cranked up. Recently Fender has released the Vintage reissue for this but it comes with maple board. This is more rare with the rosewood board. Dont be put off because its mexican. Its a great sounding guitar.
