Same as brand new but it's 11 years old. No mods.$4200 image1 (8).jpg. Real ebony fretboard. doesn't come better than this. 2004 Gibson Les Paul Custom Custom Shop guitar, in exceptional condition and complete with the COA, hangtags and original Gibson Custom case! There's an instant set of tones that comes to mind when considering a Les Paul Custom, and this guitar truly delivers on the promise of one of Gibson's most lauded creations with an articulate, harmonic rich sound and near endless sustain. Boasting a pair of Gibson 480R and 498T alnico humbuckers, this guitar can shift from searing, snappy treble in the bridge position, to a balanced, clear and rich neck pickup with the flip of a switch. Weighing in at 10lbs, this moderate weight Les Paul has incredible attack and feels extremely solid when you dig in, keeping a focused and robust tone that chimes with a certain sweetness that's hard to match! This Les Paul plays very comfortably and has been kept in immaculate, near mint condition since new.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender C "60s" profile that gets slightly deeper as you move into the higher registers of the fretboard, filling the palm and making chording and accurate lead lines effortless. The frets show virtually no wear, and the guitar plays cleanly up the neck with solid intonation and no buzzing or dead spots. Perhaps most importantly, this guitar has a gorgeous ebony fretboard with pearl block inlays, a feature which Gibson no longer offers on their Custom model! The headstock features the signature multi-ply binding with pearloid split diamond inlay and a set of stock Grover Rotomatic tuners which turn smoothly and have nearly flawless gold plating.

The mahogany body and carved maple top feature a gorgeous alpine white nitro lacquer finish accented by bright white multi-ply binding and no sign of any aging. All of the electronics work as they should, and the gold plating on the body shows only the lightest wear on the bass side of the Nashville Tune-o-Matic bridge where the hand rests while playing. The electronics are untouched, save for a pair of paper-in-oil NOS tone caps that more closely approximate the hallowed tone of the "Bumblebee" caps seen in the Les Pauls of the late 1950s. The control cavity cover has also been shielded to reduce excess noise. Minghigh@yahoo.com
