Hey guys, i have got a prob... i just bought a Epiphone Les Paul Standard yesterday at Swee Lee and the first 4 strings have a prob.
When i press on the first fret of those strings, the sound comes out very distorted and cant even be played.

Could it be to unseasoned strings? Does Swee Lee allow a trade ir there is a fault on the guitar?

it might be due to inappropriate string height. im not sure if they actually allow exchanges for stuff on sale. but why not bring it to a guitar tech?

dude the distortion is Fret buzzing

got to do with the action , fretboard angle and your nut. can adjust urslef. u try adjusting the action. ( raise it up duh ). if theres still buzzing then u check back with sweelee

Alternatively if u dont like your strings too high away from your fret board, change the nut. but i would recommend what those dudes said above to go back to sweelee

i'd recommend not touching all the truss rod adjustments
urself unless ure really sure of what you're doing.

anyways, for new guitars, i always send mine straight to
a shop for a gd setup after purchase. always always always
makes it a much better player when it comes back.
i recommend either g77 or beez at ebinex. beez did mine.
he's awesome.

it's probably not a big problem.
