The Lovehunters
Lovehunters, a unique rock band group as it originally features 3 members: Saharudin Jalil on drums, Yazid Abu Bakar as bass guitarist and main vocalist and Moliano as the lead guitarist.
This band has been around for more than a decade. Lovehunters began in 1987 where they participated the Battle of the Bands and they stole the attention of thousands of people, especially Joe Salim. their producer and also a vocalist of a band called Matahari. They did not only win the Battle of the Bands competition, but each of them hold a title of Best Vocalist, Best Drummer and Best Guitarist,respectively, in various competitions. In the same year, they cut their first album, Sehari Dalam Hidup. Lovehunters captured the heart of the public with songs that featured progressive and intellectual lyrics contributed by composers and lyricists such as Ramli Sarip, Art Fadzil, and Mohd Khair Mohd Yasin.
However, it was mainly the love ballads that shot them to fame ' Ku Ukir Nama Mu' and 'Sambutlah Kasih ' were de rigeur songs that had to be sung in every concert they performed and Lovehunters never failed to please the crowd.
Lovehunters also produce an English album under Pony Canyon. The song 'Angel in the Night' featuring vocalist Iskandar Ismail Jr won an award for the best local song in Mediacorp Radio Perfect 10 Music Awards. It was also nominated for the best locally produced album.
To date, Lovehunters has produced eight albums altogether. You can listen to some of their songs in the playlist. However, you can also request songs which you wish to hear which is not in the list (only by popular demand). The songs will definitely be updated now and then.
