which pedal has a stronger distortion boss distortion or digitech's grunge?

i have a overdrive amp which sounds pretty distorted if u turn the gain up i m not sure whether to buy a distortion pedal or to continue using my amp's overdrive.................................

it is said to produce unique sounds thats what i am looking for!!!!!!!!!!! but does it produce the long ringing sound?
