The Amek 9098 Mic Pre/EQ is a very fine piece.
The Mic Pre is very clean. Does not have classic Neve Grit and Hair, but holds it own with other high end Mic Pres.
The EQ reallly shines on the 9098. Those active filters are incredible. 12db hi/low sweepable. Killer for tracking. The 4 band parametric is the most surgical EQ Mr Rupert ever designed. +- 18db with Headroom to spare. Comparing the Amek 9098 with the high end GML 8200 that costs 2 to 3 times the price - and running pink noise thru Spectrafoo - the phase shifting on the 9098 was very respectable. Not as clean as the GML, - But not bad compared to many other parametrics.
A legendary piece of gear to own. Likely to go up in value in due time.
