I'm not sure who played it, but perhaps one of the best "non-classical" piano solos (and really emotional one) comes from the less known movie "The Legend of 1900". I believe the piece that really stikes me was "Playing Love" (by Ennio Morricone). I played it once by ear in a eating establishment's jazz night dedicated to my wife who was there. Didn't quite get the same effect as it had from the movie - to my disappointment. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it. I'm trying hard to find the DVD. Anyone seen it around?

By the way, the movie won the best score for Golden Globe in 1999.

dream theater - one last time
herbie hancock - watermelon man
