The Return of Jazzy Christmas!
Duets with Jeremy Monteiro and Friends
15 Dec 2012, Sat, 7.30pm
Esplanade Concert Hall

Jazzy Christmas returns to the Esplanade stage after a two-year hiatus with jazz pianist Jeremy Monteiro playing one duet after another with six stellar guests—each a star in their own right and master of their own style. This concert promises to be a kaleidoscope of sounds.

Jeremy will share the stage with friends new and old such as top Malaysian pianist Michael Veerapen, with whom Jeremy performed at the very first Jazzy Christmas concert.

Also in the line-up are international musicians such as Grammy award-winning Count Basie Band powerhouse vocalist Carmen Bradford; Christian Howes—one of the most exciting violinists to appear in recent years—who was awarded the No. 1 spot in Downbeat Magazine's Critics Poll (Rising Star - Violin) and also nominated for Violinist of The Year by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2011; and saxophonist Michael Paulo—a longtime touring musician with Al Jarreau who is considered to be the No. 1 Asian-American jazz artist—whose 1988 album One Passion broke the Top 10 of the Contemporary Jazz charts in the US and 2002 Sax For Christmas album won a Hoku Award in Hawaii.

Jazzy Christmas also features one of Asia's best Latin percussionists Mohamed Noor—who recently released his debut album Rebirth! to critical acclaim—in what is expected to be an explosive segment of musical energy, and the young and innovative guitarist/vocalist Shun Ng with his unique "funky thumb" guitar style. In a nod to a guitar hero who inspired many—including Shun Ng—the evening will also see a funky tribute to recently departed top Malaysian guitarist Paul Ponnudorai.

Get into the Christmas groove with this 8th installment of Jazzy Christmas. See you all there!
