"learn to play bass" book

is there any books tat teach to play bass? i used to see them around popular, but now it dun seems to be around -_- anywhere that i can get those books? and is there any good books u guys wanna introduced? my theory really sux balls :lol: need to read up abit
 
bass guitar for dummies! :p i think u have to search around for this book its a really good book and teaches u all the scales etc..
 
I'd recommend any of Ed Friedland's books - he used to be the editor of Bass Player, but he's left and is now with Bass Guitar. There's also Chuck Sher's "The improvisor's bass method".

Apart from that, if you don't mind a little religion in the teaching - I think Norm Stockton's DVD series called "Groovin for heaven" is a great resource too.

If you're interested in jazz, I suggest you check out Mark Levine's "The Jazz theory book" and if you're a more bluesy person, Mike Hiland's "Complete blues bass book"
