Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the formulation of strategies, development and implementation of programmes to advance Singapore's diverse music scene comprising the classical to contemporary genres and across languages. Through targeted grants and partnerships with stakeholders in the music scene, you will: champion artistic excellence; help music professionals develop their full potential; build a strong base of music organisations in the scene; develop local audiences and supporters for Singapore music; and promote Singapore musicians and music internationally.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Champion and drive the development of strategies, policy and initiatives or programmes that will create new opportunities and/or address issues that affect the scene, in collaboration with key internal and external partners.
• Guide and mentor the team in implementing a range assistance scheme (e.g. grants, scholarship, awards, arts spaces etc) to develop music professionals, organisations and platforms; partnership management of key organisations and individuals in the scene to ensure a collaborative relationship with NAC; and plan and execute programmes and initiatives.
Requirements:
• Good university degree
• At least 8 years of management experience and demonstrated success in business development, as well as a minimum of 5 years in supervising and leading teams.
• Passionate in championing arts and cultural development in Singapore
• Good knowledge of a range music genres, understanding of the commercial music business and networks within the industry would be an advantage
• Candidates with relevant experience in arts administration and music are preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and reasoning ability
• Strong sense of empathy, able to relate well to people and work well in teams
• Strong organisational and management skills
