hi,

i will like to know wat are the ways to improvise a song?
let say im playing accompianment style RH playing the chords.

wat are the ways and methods to improvise the song adding more style of your own rather than RH playing the chord beat by beat.
wat are the methods which can be used and is there any rules to follow??

hope the PROs here will help me on this.

Well there really isn't a set rule to follow, but you just have to start messing around and hitting keys to try and improvise. While playing the bass line, think of a melody in your head and replicate it on your keyboard. Honestly, I found it pretty futile the first 50 times or so (times as in each sitting to play the piano). Yes 50 times, maybe I'm terrible at piano, but practise was my key to breaking out of the mundane 4/4 chordal beat.

Remember to move your hand up and down the keys to get an entire range of highs and lows when messing around too.

hey~!

i agree with what Titan says.
there is really no set of rules to follow for improvisation.

however, if you wanna try something to make your keyboard sound cooler, and you really have no idea how to start,
maybe you can start off with something which i do call it as "fill in", to make your keyboard sounds cooler.

sometimes, i will play the "off" notes in the chords, or rather the sharps for the fill in:
fill in such as:
(time: 1/4)
Em | Em | E#/G | E#/G | Am | Am/G# | Am/G | Am/G |

or sometimes, i try to play 7th chords. such as:
(time: 1/4)
C | C | C7 | C7 | G | G| G | G |

or maybe sometimes, you can just play a bit of melody at your right hand. :)

maybe you can try the above, to spark off your own style of playing.

but still the first saying,
there is no set of rules to follow.
so all you have to do, is try around and have fun!! =)

my 2 cents worth of view.
hope it is not crappy at all.
lols. =)
