Electric Guitar and amp setup recommendations?

Hello guys,

Ive been playing my acoustic guitar for around a month now and have decided to get an electric guitar. I am planning to buy an Epiphone Les Paul Special II together with an amp. Considering the Fender Mustang I or the Line 6 Spider IV. Any other beginner amp recommendations (<S$150)? I play mostly rock (Led Zep, Guns and Roses, Black Sabbath etc)

Im pretty bent on getting an Epiphone Les Paul (<S$300) and ive searched the web for second hand ones but they all seemed to have been already sold T.T

And also any places where they sell guitars or secondhand ones at a cheap price? Im looking at Swee Lee, SVguitars, and probably the shops around Peninsula. Many thanks!

amp wise:

roland micro cube (swee lee) [need to ask for discount usually]
vox micro 3 (city music)

guitar:

sv guitars (smash/swing, epiphone, rally, etc)
city music (craftsman)
maybe tymc (grassroots)

Line 6 amps are terrific beginner amps (they sound much better now than previously), and will transit to become your practice amp next time as you advance. I'd recommend later Line 6 gear, anything after the Spider III or the PODX3 sound great.

I'll go for Line 6 Spider IV 15w. It's perfect for Rock n Roll

I prefer NuX mighty 15 to line 6, to me is cheaper and better

Hi Bro,

It's seems you already choose the guitar "Epiphone Les Paul" , but I can recommend you LTD - I'm using LTD M100FM and before that I did research and found that this is the best price/quality ratio. You can got to take a look in Davis Guitar, they have some really cheap models - for 200-300 S$ (with double locking system). As guitar player you might be interested later with additional tones using Floyd Rose .

For amp - I bought from Davis guitar Marshall MG15 and using Boss ME-25 - sounds great , but I'll recommend you Line 6 Spider IV 15 from City music. For the money is cool (only 145 S$)- and you don't need additional effect because it has clean, crunch, metal, insane, phaser

Hello guys!

Thanks for all the recommendations! Ive bought my set 3 weeks ago. Its a Rally GL-300 ($380) with a NuX might 15 amp ($139) And it feels good and sounds good as well! I love the British preset which i use for Led Zep and GnR songs.

Hahaha, actually is I lazy go to elsewhere to buy line 6. I stay in woodlands so i go the woodlands SV guitars to buy my guitar and since they already have Nux over there might as well buy the whole set together
