Hi guys. Would like to know if a Drum Pad is really necessary?
Or can i just use some kind of surface (E.G. Cushion Chair) as Drum Pad?

necessary for home practice cos is too loud to practice your rudiments on snare drum at hme
drum pad is necessary for practicing your rudiments.
cushion chair cant be a drum pad cos the cushion chair has little or no rebound and you wont get used to the high rebound on the snare after sometime of practicing on the cushion chair.
perhaps you can find some rubber surface that has high rebound
or a bunch of telephone books stacked together.
or just hit the table where there is rebound
:D

Yeah i realized that the cushion chair has very little rebound...my hand got sore only after playing rudiments for awhile. lol.
Can i just get any cheap drum pad for long term usage? Or is there a good one to choose from for long term? Since rudiment practice has no end right?
