i have many fav drummers.. but 1st one in my mind, at least the kind of player i look up to now of this generation is Gil Sharone.

he subbed for travis when he was recovering from the airplane crash.
he plays all styles... metal, alt, jazz,funk,reggae.. u name it!
i saw him when he had a drum clinic in my school and he's simply too amazing to miss!

this video is him playing a song from this band he formed, stolen babies

=) nope, he came to my school in LA... heehee he's very inspiring... coz he's selftaught! ie never go to music school.. and dont read charts/scores.. but he can memorize songs.. including odd meters stuff... amazing techniques and chops.. so he's my idol :D

check out the video on youtube where he jammed in a NAMM show.

i'll post more drummers next time... hee just starting to come back here on soft.com.sg to see what's going on...

Yeah. I saw a vid of Gil Sharone playing for Dillinger Escape Plan. That's some serious odd time music!

I've always thought Chad Smith of rhcp. I'll admit he isnt like really technically astute but i like his style.

Just my 2 cents worth
