bass equalizers

hey ya,
Does anyone know whats the best equiliser(frequency:treble,mid,bass) settings on the amp to give the best tone to the bass?like the tone in deep purple:smoke on the water?or even any settings thats favourable to you?

bro....hold your horses...dont run out to buy that EQ that you saw in bass player mag...

the EQ is on your bass...really.

of you are usin a 2 single pick config. bass - jazz bass ...open the vol. & tone to full and pick the position near to the bridge..hear the sound..quite hard and 'sharp', now move down to the neck and try...you will notice that the position ner the neck is deep and 'reggae' like....

also , in deep purple, glover the bass player used a rickenbacker bass thru an ampeg...and he used a pick.

glenn hughes used a Precision bass and jazz bass through an ampeg also and used a pick.
