A practical seminar on managing copyright for the music industry

Copyright protection has and will always be a significant issue to the music industry. Technological advances have posed a serious threat to the commercial success and economic viability of the music industry that has had to re-think its business strategies and models.

As the music industry continues to evolve, a robust yet flexible intellectual property (IP) regime is necessary to help the industry overcome these challenges and maintain its competitive economic edge. But it needs also to be aware and keep pace with the expectations of the users who are demanding an increasingly flexible, seamless and transparent mode of use and payment for music works.

Creators and owners need to be aware of the implications of copyright throughout the creation & production process, the way copyright is applied in the exploitation of the work, and its implications to the end-users. Only then can they effective maximize its value.

At the end of this programme participants will gain essential knowledge on IP that is a must for anyone who is in the music industry. Participants will also be able to familiarize themselves with WHO to go to and HOW to get their music protected.

An excellent seminar to attend. Very little is known about copyrights and IP even though it is one of the most important aspect.

But darn it is too expensive for me :(
