S'pore defence: once they lose the ball, that's it- recovery is slim, very slim indeed.

Yea..........i watched it on TV........Baihakki and Precious just can't click together. Add that to the fact that Maksim Shatskiksh was pulling them on strings like puppets, and u have a recipe for disaster.......which was exactly wat happened last night. And we do need ppl who can pull the trigger much much earlier, Duric's wasted chance when he was put clear by Shi Jiayi was testament to that. I think Qiu Li may jus be the man for that.

Qiu Li isn't afraid to shoot at goal, even from outside the box- that's a good sign but the frequency of it must increase...
last night, Lionel Lewis was terrible... he did buck-up during the later half of the game but that was damage control time.

The irony of all this is that prior to this match the Lions' defence IMO is one of the best that I have seen since watching local football, and is the trumph card that Raddy counts on to get the results most of the time.
Anyway yesterday's match was a humbling experience to show that the local lads are way way behind of being "world class". Even the like of Lewis (maybe the captain's armband got to him), one of Asia's best stumbled and played like a schoolboy(mind u he didnt even played like that during his school days!)
It is a frustrating result as a fan of local footie but its a good lesson learn. Especially considering that they can come back twice to equalise!
Though it may be a team sport, what the Lions needs now is a another football hero in the mould of Fandi/Sundram/Quah Kim Song/etc... to bring it on when the occasion arise. The current squad of players has none of that critera...Solos makes me smile....

still i think Nor Rahman had a good game. look at how he close down people. he easily save 3 goals from happening the way i see it. duric looks frking nervous on that first superb through ball to him. lack of composure? no way for someone experienced like him.
but what the heck. half time, my hp batt flat, went into room, never did came out.Smooth deals with: alibaba, jalanampas, reyar, ricky, THOA, rikki, satchuratorX, harfiyan

Yes, i can't believe Grasshopper Zurich actually bothered to give him a trial. He's capable of so much more. Hassan Sunny might have been a better choice, seeing that he's had a good season and has been great in goal for the Lions recently.
