Comments on the Tone:

When in my Alder Body/Rosewood neck Swing Standard (basically a strat) through my atomic amplifire and my line 6 Pod HD before that, Opus S1 pickups yielded bright vintage tones with just a little bit more output. I'd describe it as bright and "crisp" sound that will punch through the mix. Compared to Duncan SSL-1, which i also used before in a similar config, Opus S1 provided a punchier sound with more "quack" though both have similar tone characteristics. This pickup takes hi-gain surprisingly well for a vintage single coil, taming the high with the tone control produces a very sweet sound imo (note: i used my single coils with 500k pots most of the time)

The Plasma X1 humbucker in the bridge position provides higher output mid focused sound that gives a big full bodied clean tone and an even bigger sound with hi-gain. It still does manage to retain clarity and avoid being muddy through hi-gain. Compared to other pickups which i played, this pickup has more low mids/bass than the Duncan JB and is closer imo to the Dimarzio Tonezone though tonezone provides a more aggressive sounding hi-gain whereas Plasma X1 is smoother. Standard spacing performed well even in vintage strat. tremolo guitars imo

Overall very good set that gets you range of vintage to modern metal tones while retaining a "Strat" character
