am trying to venture into guitar playing territory. Aim is to eventually venture into electric guitar , if time permits. Nothing fanciful, just some recommendations on basic model (brand if possible and model, costings , etc), specs and features for the first guitar , taking into consideration progression into electric. Not sure of budget as out of touch with the guitar world, but lowest decent one would be appreciated for starters, as not sure if got the fuel to continue further yah. Not into branding though, just something decent for a newbie. Basically being able to cover a song eventually would be good already haha. Just know some basics on chords and music scores only . Thanks for your advice. cheers:)

Suggest that you go for something decent, so that if you don't like guitar (gasp!) you can resell it easily. Do consider buying second-hand, maybe those lightly used ones on Carousell.

Under $200, you can find a new guitar with a solid top. In short, the better wood used will make it sound nicer and more resonant with playing time. Used can be below $150 or even $100!

Today's New Chapter is also somewhere to check out since you're not brand conscious. They sell imported, unknown brand guitars with pretty decent construction for great prices.

Good luck! And enjoy your foray into the guitar world :)
