Help with getting an electric guitar

Hi everyone, I am looking into getting an electric guitar but I do not know which one to go too. I have played the acoustic guitar for about a year plus plus.

The genres I want to learn on the electric are mainly jazz, blues and j-rock/pop. I am considering a secondhand Timbre SR200 (just the guitar alone not the amp) but it seem pretty rare. A Swing electric (not sure which model yet). Hopefully maybe an SX thinline telecaster if I'm lucky enough to find one in Singapore. Any advice for me? I do not mind second hand guitars. I plan to spend as little on my electric so I can spend more on the amp. Just looking for an axe with a comfortable neck and good pickups.

May I also know what songs can I learn on the acoustic guitar that I can play on the electric as well so I can test the feel of the electric guitar?

Judging from the style you said you play, the Swing S1 would be perfect!

You can look for other brands if you want cheaper version like the Craftsman ST30 or TGM.

Most songs on acoustic can be played on electric on clean settings, just that the feel and tone is a lot different. In my opinion, most acoustic songs, played on an electric will seem "easier".

Yeah it's a lot easier, especially when the electric guitar is set up in low action.

Thanks for the suggestions! Cheers

Good evening :)

That first electric guitar- decisions, decisions. Anyway, I personally believe that you are good to go with whatever you have decided on, regardless of the brand name, new or pre-loved. Get something you really like based on an informed decision, ie, do some background reading/ asking around on what you are about to acquire. Please do not be compelled to follow what others recommend but keep the recommendations in mind.

Whatever songs you can play on the acoustic, you can play on the electric- these are both guitars, yes :) When I test guitars out at the store, it's more about looking at the QC/ flaws (if any) & playability, I don't worry too much about what to play.

All the best in your first purchase.
