Jazz Association (Singapore) presents The Lion City Youth Jazz Festival in concert featuring the Jazz Association (Singapore) Youth Orchestra (JASSYO!) and its mentors. The concert is a result of a five-day programme consisting of intensive rehearsals, workshops and interactions and guidance from mentors who are prominent professional jazz musicians around the world.
These eminent mentors include legendary saxophonist, jazz master and composer Benny Golson(US) as well as music director, pianist and composer Jeremy Monteiro(Singapore) and composer and arranger Fritz K Renold(Switzerland).
Also on the list are Tony Lakatos(Saxophone-Germany), Andrew Lim(Guitar-Singapore), Fabian Lim(Saxophone-Singapore), Eijiro Nakagawa(Trombone-Japan), Dave Newdick(Trumpet-Australia), Alex Sipiagin(Trumpet-) and Hong Chanutr Techatana-nan(drums-Thailand).
JassYO! will play the a selection of renowned jazz standards as well as original compositions and arrangements by Jeremy Monteiro, Fritz K Renold and Chok Kerong. Benny Golson’s landmark compositions will be featured in the second half.
