Mail order guitar into Singapore: okay?

Is there any problem with ordering a guitar from an online store in, say, the US and having it shipped to Singapore? I heard something about a law that stops people importing electronic stuff by mail.
Thx for any advice.
 
I have shipped in gear including guitars, pedals and speakers using Vpost and Borderlinx. Never had a problem. As long as you keep the invoice on standby in case they request for it. I know Borderlinx usually do.
 
remember to take into the consideration of the 7 percent GST, and it applies to the total price of item plus shipping
