I am Marcus from wyd:syd. We are a local band that explores and blends musical elements from a variety of genres (indie, post-rock, math-rock, alternative). Some of our main influences include Toe, Foals, Slowdive, Phoenix, as well as M83. The band was formed in 2012 and has performed at Noise 2013, Baybeats 2014, as well as Ignite Music Festival 2014, amongst other events.
We are currently on the look out for a new drummer and we certainly hope to be able to find a new friend to join us on our musical journey
For a gauge, we would require the individual to be able to:
1) Play with the metronome during live shows (a MUST)
2) Open to experiment musically with ideas in general (musicality and feelings) [odd time signature]
3) Preferably done with NS and have prior experience recording/gigging.
4) Able to jam on weekends and gig on Saturdays
We would hope to embark on a new musical journey with our new member (New EP plans and more projects) but please do take note that you will be required to learn some songs from our original repertoire (you may listen to our tracks here: wydsyd.bandcamp.com).
