Recommendations for new acoustic guitar

Hi guys!

I'm looking for a acoustic guitar to replace my old laminated one in which the neck snapped, and I figured it would not be worth it to repair it.

Any recommendations for something between the 200-250 range? Is it possible? Preferably a solid top?

Thanks guys!!

Hey man,

for the price range you're looking at, look no further than a Yamaha.
Trust me, I know it sounds dodgy, we all want Gibsons/Fenders/Taylors/Martins,
but Yamaha makes seriously awesome, underrated instruments.

The Yamaha FG series I think would be the best, but that's in the region of 500
I think. I picked up a second hand Yamaha F-340 recently for $120 that plays very very nicely,
got a nice bright, deep sound to it, so maybe you want to look for something in that region.

Sound Alchemy at Excelsior Shopping Centre, Basement 1, carries some Yamaha acoustics
in the price range you're looking at, between 200-250. I'd say go try them all and pick one
you fall in love with.

Good luck.

Cort Earth Grand OP at 199 with gig bag and solid top or Cort Earth L100c at 195 solid top as well. The F series of Yamaha are laminate tops btw.

You can try Custom Acoustics, but in my opinion they tend to sound unspectacular, even if the specs look good on paper. Yamahas are ok too.

Maestro currently having clearance for some models- do check them out.

Also, the Takamines are on sale @ Davis GMC, do have a look at those as well :)

I'm looking for one under $300 too.

Looking at these:

Epiphone AJ-220S $220
Epiphone AJ-220 CE $330
Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic $360

Any advice?
