where is the best place to learn guitar?

If you're not sure about committing to guitar, you could take up classes in a community centre first to test the waters. Then snag a book and develop your skills on the side. Of course, YMMV.

Edit: If no extreme songs, does that mean More Than Words is out of the question? ;)

Yup! I first took up guitar lessons in a community centre. When my interest is picking up, I started watching many youtube tutorials whether is it got to do with playing the guitar, tuning the guitar or even learning about the different guitar parts.

Then I move on to learning from online sites, Justin Guitar (http://www.justinguitar.com/) is a great place to start out. I used to pick up songs to learn from http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/, and learn all the different chords for different songs (mostly English).

If you keep practicing and have hunger to learn more, slowly but surely you will see the fruits of your results :D
